VISIT TO RASHTRAPATI BHAWAN
Event Start Date : 05/02/2024 Event End Date 05/02/2024

The school organised an educational tour to Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum and Rashtrapati Bhavanfor Class 6-8th students on 1st feb 2024. With the permission and guidance of Principal, Mr V.K Barthwal, it was facilitated by the Supervisor, Ms. Sarita Bishnoi and social science teachers Ms Suhani Bhati, Ms Archana Chauhan ,Ms Vidushi Sharma .
The excursion was quite enriching as the museum tells the story of the legacy of Indian Presidents and the history of freedom struggle. They got to see various enclaves which exhibit photographs, belongings, gifts and awards of the presidents received over the years.
The museum offered students a complete package of art, culture, environment and heritage of Rashtrapati Bhavan. Students showed keen interest as they listened to the museum guide and were fascinated by the artefacts on display and the unique glimpse offered by all the objects and paintings.
The tour ended with a technology-supported visitor-interactive story-telling session on the life of Mahatma Gandhi, which touched the heart of the audience. The tour was a great learning experience for the students.

Rashtrapati Bhavan has an elegant exterior showcasing nature and the first view of Amrit Udyan (Formerly known as Mughal Garden) . In the exterior is a ground full of red sandy soil. The building’s main exterior had a castle like maneuver, resembling old british architectury.
We first went to the staircases where the guide told us about a Lord Buddha statue with 1001 hands, which was initially made up of Plaster of Paris but seemed like it was made with concrete. The whole staircase area felt like a royal mansion, a place where medievel kings lived.
Then we went to the Darbar hall where awards are given to many reciepients, Arunimha Sinha the first women amputee to climb mount Everest was also given the Padma Shri award here.
We then went to the Saryu hall(North Drawing hall). The North Drawing Room is one the formal rooms of Rashtrapati Bhavan where the Indian President receives the Visiting Heads of State. Located near the Durbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan, this tastefully done room with grand Burmese teak paneling on the walls and beautiful wooden furniture provides an appropriate setting for the meetings of Heads of State.
Then we went to the Tungabhadra hall(Long Drawing room). Long Drawing Room (LDR), as the name suggests, is a long conference room of the Rashtrapati Bhavan where the President used to host the annual conferences of Governors/Lieutenant-Governors.
We then went to the most beautiful hall of all of them, Ashoka Hall. The Ashok Hall is used for presentation of credentials by Heads of Missions of foreign countries and as a formal place of introductions for the visiting and Indian delegations prior to the commencement of the State Banquets hosted by the President.
Almost all of Rashtrapati Bhavan has been designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. The man who also designed New Delhi.
In the end I would like to thank all teachers involved as well as our hon’ble Principal sir for such an auspicious and informative excursion in the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Thank You!
