Smt. Prem Lata Garg’s education and training at the Delhi University laid the foundation for her professional career in 1977 as a teacher and as a consequence of her unassailable commitment to the field of education, later as the Principal of DAV Public School, Shrestha Vihar, Delhi.
For someone who was always acutely conscious of the immense responsibility an educator shoulders, as the Principal of her school she plunged headlong into the process of improving the methodology and the spectrum of education imparted then. The improvements came not just through increased and rational use of technology but also through proactive and participation-oriented co-scholastic activities for her students in tandem with the academic aspect. All efforts were directed towards a holistic development of her students during their academic life.
Efforts directed towards a universal good inevitably get recognition and so it has been with Smt. Prem Lata Garg. Honoured by the Delhi State with the ‘Rajya Siksha Samman’ for adopting an innovative approach in teaching, she was also conferred upon with the ‘Shikshak Samman’ by the Central Board of Secondary Education. Under her guidance, DAV Public School, Sreshtha Vihar was declared the All India Winner of Computer Literacy Excellence Award in the Schools Category by the Ministry of Information and Technology, Government of India. She has also been honoured by different State and National organizations for her result-oriented innovations and supremely effective use of modern technology as a teaching aid in the field of education. The DAV College Managing Committee too conferred upon her a gold medal for her important contribution in the field of education and for her commendable service to society.
Smt. Prem Lata Garg has dedicated her life for the cause of education. She is conscious of the immense responsibility of an educationist and is committed to the process of improving the methodology and the spectrum of education. Smt Garg is known for taking care of every child in the school and has special consideration for the weaker sections of the children.
